Death Knight Leveling Guide Reviews

Death Knights Though the Guides we review discuss leveling from 1-85, they are also beneficial to those who have chosen to level and play a Death Knight. With three brand new talent trees unique to this first Hero class of World of Warcraft, you can choose to utilize Blood, Unholy or Frost abilities. Whichever you choose, these Guides are inarguably great tools!

Death Knights are the first Hero Class to be introduced in World of Warcraft. If you have a character of level 55 or higher on any server, you will be able to make a Death Knight. You may only have one Death Knight per server. This Hero Class is open to all races. Your Death Knight begins their journey, after long being a servant to the Lich King, in Acherus: The Ebon Hold. You will progress through a specific questline through Ebon Hold. Through this questline you will gain your mount, the Death Charger. You also gain experience and talent points as rewards for the quests you complete. Going through this questline gives you a tour of the background of the Death Knight, and also helps you get acquainted with some of the attributes that are unique to the Death Knight and are very new with the Wrath expansion.

The Death Knight is a hybrid class, lending itself to filling the role for Primary Tank or melee DPS. They are extremely effective at both. There are three talent trees for the Death Knight to specialize in. You can choose between Frost, Blood or Unholy. As far as the Blood specialization, the abilities found within that tree compliment and amplify health regeneration. Blood is a good Solo spec for the Death Knight. Though most of the specs are good for soloing, the Death Knight by nature has very high survivability. They wear Plate Armor, which gives you them a very favorable Armor Class. Another unique thing about the Death Knight is there ability to raise minions who will fight beside them. If one decides to specialize in the Unholy tree, this will not only unlock a great deal of AoE for the Death Knight to utilize, it will also open up talents related to your minion. Within the Unholy tree there is also a Spell Damage shield, which is very helpful.

As far as the Death Knight tanking, it seems that some favor the Frost specialization. Frost increases critical strike, but more importantly increases armor and can add some bonus damage. The Frost specialization is not only beneficial to the Death Knight alone, the Death Knight's party will benefit from a melee attack speed boost. In terms of tanking, it seems that the Death Knight is best off using a two handed blade (or dual wielding) while managing to put out a favorable degree of damage, enough to hold aggro. High AC while fulfilling the Tank role is also very important. As far as gear goes, it's important to remember that when you leave Ebon Hold your gear will be of Rare (blue) quality through the quest rewards you will receive. That will make you ready to face the baddies in Outland.

As far as the weapons available to the Death Knight, they include Axes, Polearms, Swords, Two-Handed Axes, Two-Handed Swords, One-handed Maces, Two-Handed and Maces. The Death Knight is also able to Runeforge their weapon. Runeforging mimics weapon enchants, yet this is something that specifically compliments Death Knight talents and is an ability only the Death Knight can use on their own weapon. Regardless of what they choose to Runeforge on their weapon, or which weapon they choose to wield... all Death Knights are a slave to the Rune System. Instead of using Mana or Rage, the Death Knight uses Runic Power and Runes. Certain abilities will consume certain runes, and some abilities will even drain a Death Knight's runic power completely. The runes that a Death Knight have are the Blood, Unholy and Frost. Some may choose to utilize the ability that converts one of their runes into a Death Rune which is tantamount to a "Wild Card". When a rune is used, there is a 10 second cooldown and then the rune will refresh.
