Paladins
Our Paladin reviews are based on speed and level of detail. It doesn't matter if you want to be Holy, Prot, or Retribution. These guides should help you out in getting to 85 as fast as possible while still allowing the game to be enjoyable.



Paladins are regarded as "Guardians of the Holy Light". Once only open to the Alliance, the option of choosing the Paladin class was opened to the Horde. With Burning Crusade came Blood Elves, and the Horde's chance at utilizing this hybrid class. Paladins are sought after by groups for their buffing abilities. Their Auras and Blessings are built to compliment most any group build.

Paladin is an extremely versatile class, giving the player the ability to choose between three talent trees. Holy, Protection and Retribution, which one you choose will depend on your personal preference. Holy Paladins are quite efficient at healing, while Protection Paladins can be very successful tanks. The Retribution tree can lend itself to some devastating DPS, especially with the introduction of the Wrath expansion.

One of the great advantages of playing a Paladin is the ability to wear plate armor. The ability to wear Plate armor becomes available to the Paladin at level 40. This armor class is not only necessary for tanking, but it's a bonus if one chooses to go Holy. The Paladin can withstand some heavy blows, while still effectively keeping the group alive. The Paladin can enjoy increased survivability in either a PvP or Raid setting.

The Races that can choose this class include Humans, Dwarves, Blood Elves, and Draenei. The Paladin also can wield a large variety of weapons, giving the player the ability to choose a weapon based on their individual player preferences and tastes. The weapons available to this class include One and Two-handed Maces, One and Two-handed Swords, One and Two-handed Axes, and Polearms. Also, Paladins have the ability to equip Librams which can compliment a number of their talents and abilities.

Besides specializing in group buffing, the Paladin has some pretty decent self buffs as well. Keeping on top of these buffs is important when playing this class to maximize your damage/healing etc.

Though the Paladin is primarily a melee class, it's important to remember that vital talents rely upon magic. It's a must to watch your mana bar, and keep in mind (especially in a PvP setting) that Paladins are vulnerable to silence.

Paladins are a very efficient tanking class because of their Consecration ability, which is an AoE that draws in threat and keeps enemies focused on the Paladin and not other group members.
