Warrior's are capable of holding aggro in a variety of ways, and also benefit from high survivability. This class is frequently used to fill the roles of Main Tank or Off Tank. The Warrior class is available to all classes, save Blood Elves. They are able to use all weapons, minus wands. Rather than worrying about a mana bar, Warriors need to watch their Rage. Rage is gained from taking damage from enemies. The more Rage they gain, the more attacks they can use and deal potentially devastating blows to their targets.

With their high survivability, and the ability to utilize the armor class provided by Plate armor, Warrior's are able to face multiple opponents. A group with a Warrior enjoys the benefit of the Warrior's Battle Shout which enhances physical damage to enemies. The three talent trees of the Warrior Class are Protection, Arms and Fury. Whichever you choose, this class has numerous possibilities for those that enjoy close range combat.

An important part of the Warrior class is knowing which stance to be in and when. Stances include Battle Stance, Defensive Stance and the Berserker Stance.

Due to a recent patch, Protection specced Warriors are now viable for PvP. Certainly not to be underestimated, or considered useless. Their most notable ability in PvP is the ability to stun. This stops casters mid casting, and helps them take down their opponents with ease. Not to mention that Protection Warriors are very efficient at holding threat. Whether it's PvP or PvE the player is interested in, the Protection Warrior can dish it out damage wise, and certainly take it as well.

Prot Warrior uses one handed + shield.

Battle Shout effects the raid not just the party as of WotLK

Titan's Grip new Fury talent that allows the Warrior to dual wield two handed weapons.

As a Warrior of the Alliance, you may want to consider Dranei. Dranei have the Gift of the Naaru which is a much appreciated heal over time spell. Though not as important, you will also receive extra shadow resistance. No matter which side you're on, or which race you choose - Warrior packs a big punch while enjoying a high armor class and some stunning damage.
